This month Jaime Gray and Anna Laney will discuss the Dispute Board process and timing in Latin America, the UK and the Middle East. They will also cover the issues to consider when drafting and negotiating your contract, in relation to the dispute resolution process and how that will be impacted by a dispute board and/or arbitration.
This will be an interactive session with the opportunity to ask questions directly to two incredible speakers .
Jaime Gray is a specialist in construction law and alternative dispute resolution and the founding partner of NPG Lawyers. He has been involved in important construction projects in Peru, including the New Jorge Chávez Airport Terminal and the Pan American Village project for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.
He has advised on various types of infrastructure, mining projects, ports and airports, hydroelectric, water and sanitation; roads, bridges and tunnels as well as highly complex buildings such as first class hotels and hospitals. In several of them, he has also led the contractual administration staff of NPG.
In terms of dispute resolution, he is an arbitrator and a member of Dispute Boards, however, he stands out in dealing with dispute resolution during the execution of the projects. He has successfully represented parties in ICC international arbitrations and others administered in local arbitration centres.
Anna Laney’s practice focusses on construction related matters, whether they be traditional employers’/contractors’ contractual claims, professional negligence disputes or insurance issues.
She is an experienced advocate appearing regularly in the High Court, International, and Domestic Arbitrations as well as within the alternative dispute resolution forums of mediation and adjudication. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Anna has conducted a number of trials, hearings, and mediations remotely using a variety of platforms and document management systems.
Given her extensive experience of dealing with arbitrations, and considerable familiarity with the ICC, LCIA, CiARB, DIAC,QICCA and IBA Rules together with her longstanding appointment as a Recorder, Anna is happy to accept appointments to sit as an arbitrator.
